I have both, and I prefer the original ZV1: while the focus system and sensor is the same, in the original you have more light, more zoom, OIS, and a shutter than allows you to shot long exposure stills. The new one only is better in mic, touch screen and a wider lens at 18mm, but if you use the SteadyShot, then you have a 23 mm because the crop.
